This book takes you back many, many eons ago. Back to when the Pharaoh's ruled over Egypt, when they were the highest of dignity's. Outside of the many levels there were of the Gods above. Here we have a man named Mery. He finds out that within his family history, there laid the last known sitting Pharaoh. Which, in turn, has now left him as the current Pharaoh. A position that he doesn't truly want, but knows he needs to stand up and take. If only to keep his family both healthy and living comfortably. It isn't long until Mery finds that not everyone wanted to see him rise up and take the throne. The people around him, whom were supposed to help settle him in, don't want to see any type of new change come to order. They like the power that had been bestowed onto them in his absence. And are willing to do whatever they can to keep a firm hold onto that power. Mery feels everyone is against him. That is until he meets the lower level demon, Sed. It's Sed's job to see that Mery eases into this new journey in life. Even if it's part of a life time he wishes to no longer be apart of anymore. Together Sed and Mery try their best to bring Mery into the life he's meant to have. To be the man, the Pharaoh that Sed believes he can become. Only somewhere along the way, something else happens. The two find themselves becoming closer then they should. Neither wanting to change what things have become, both scared of what the future will bring. Especially when Mery's life is challenged, more then once.I truly enjoyed this book. It's depths into the olden days between the Pharaoh's and Gods grabs your interest from the very beginning. Though I did find this book impossible to put down once I picked it up. Can't wait for the next in it's series!!! Enjoyable tale of kings and god’s. This story is intriguing with plot twists and conspiracy’s to kill the new king. The characters are entertaining and I enjoyed there journey to there HEA. Sed is a god who is falling for Mery the new king. Wonderful adventure.
