I had a hard time putting this book down. It is the most entertaining book I've ever read that not only involves the victim, April when she is alive but the scenes leading up to her death. The two police officers, Mel & Zara that arrive at the scene and the the forensic investigator, Kelsey. I liked how the author intertwined the crime scene with the Kelsey being a rookie investigator that has OCD is introduced to Zara who is squeamish around dead bodies and wants to be a detective. Loved the chemistry between the two. I was disappointed the lack of detail description of the characters such as height, actual age, hair color and if there was it was vague. An not all the characters were given a clear description. Though it did not stop me from enjoying the romance or the mystery of what really happened during those last minutes before April's death. I was definitely surprised at the end and loved that Kelsey & Zara moved in together. I was sadden there wasn't more about if Zara becoming detective was actually going to be in narcotics or homicide since the chief really didn't say. Well this was the most exciting story I've read and definitely recommend this book to everyone. Mystery and a romance great combination. Zara and Mel had been patrol partners for five years but Zara wanted to make detective and work narcotics. The problem was she hated death scenes and wasn’t going to make it if she didn’t get beyond the problem. Kelsey Granger was a rookie forensic investigator who was meticulous in n her work. She seems so confident and in control. They are drawn to each other as they work the scene of what appears to be a suicide. Their developing relationship is encouraging both to grow and learn new things. A mystery and romance. Recommend author and this book.
